Tuck Jagadish Movie Review: Nani’s Family Drama is a Decent Watch

Honestly, I sat down to watch Nani’s Tuck Jagadish expecting a solid family entertainer, especially since Shiva Nirvana was directing. But man, what a mixed bag of emotions this turned out to be.

The Story: Land Grabs, Family Feuds, and a Tucked-In Hero

The movie is set in a village called Bhudevipuram, where everyone seems to be fighting over land. No, seriously, the greed in this village is on another level. Aadiseshnaiah, the respected village head, wants peace, but after he passes away, things go completely south. His eldest son, Bosu Babu (played by Jagapathi Babu), turns greedy and joins hands with the local bad guy, Veerendra (Daniel Balaji).

Enter our hero, Jagadish Naidu (Nani). He’s Aadiseshnaiah’s youngest son, and his superpower is… keeping his shirt tucked in. Jokes aside, Jagadish is a government official who returns to his village to fix this mess. He has to reform the corrupt land system while trying to reunite his broken family. Sounds like a typical 90s family drama? Well, because it is.

Tuck Jagadish Movie Review: Hit or Miss?

Let’s talk about the good stuff first. Nani is absolutely brilliant. The guy can act in his sleep, tbh. He brings a lot of heart to Jagadish, making even the over-the-top emotional scenes somewhat believable. His chemistry with Ritu Varma is cute, though she doesn’t get much screen time to actually do anything substantial. The music and background score also keep things lively.

But the second half? Kinda dragged, not gonna lie. It gets super melodramatic with endless crying, shouting, and family politics. At times, it felt more like a daily soap opera than a feature film. Shiva Nirvana tried to blend a rustic family drama with high-octane action, but the pacing gets very uneven.

If you love typical Telugu family sentiment movies with a dash of action and village scenery, this is a decent one-time watch on a lazy Sunday with your family. Just don’t go in expecting a masterpiece.
