Our Review: Is Boss (2025) Worth a Watch?

Tbh, I went in with zero expectations, but Boss turned out to be a really fun time-pass watch. The absolute best part about the movie is the performance of the lead actors. Jung Kyung-ho is incredibly charming as the tango-aspiring gang heir. He brings this soft, hilarious energy that contrasts beautifully with his tough gangster look.

Jo Woo-jin, who is always a powerhouse performer in Korean cinema, brings so much depth to Soon-tae. Even in the silliest scenes, his comic timing is spot on. The chemistry between the leads is what keeps you hooked even when the plot gets a bit predictable.

The humor feels very natural and does not feel forced. Sure, the second half kinda drags a bit when they try to wrap up the emotional arcs and family drama, but the solid soundtrack and the warm vibe of the film keep it afloat. It is not a path-breaking masterpiece, but for a lazy Sunday afternoon, it is total paisa vasool entertainment.
